Novodevichy Convent a historical site in Moscow known as “New maidens Monestary”

Since 17th century Novodevichy Convent remain intact which also known as Bogoroditse-Smolensky Monastery that is probably known cloister of Moscow and sometime known as the “New maidens Monestery”. From the beginning the Novodevichy Convent is the most important place to the monasteries which was built in 1514 by the Smolensk on the forest behind of Moskva River. The Novodevichy Convent was sheltered many royal people like as Russian royal family, Feodor wife Irina Godunova, Sohia Alekseyevna, Eudoxi Lopukhina etc.

From the mid of the 17th century the Novodevichy Convent was used for many activities like as officers of the Imperial Russian Army, orphanage for female foundlings etc.
In 1943 during the World War II the Novodevichy Convent was used for Russian Orthodox Church, the Moscow Theological Institute etc. Then it was affiliated with the State Historical Museum.
When the construction was finished with the six-pillared five domed in 1525 from them the construction is one of the best site in not only Moscow but also whole world for which in 2004 UNESCO proclaimed a World Heritage Site.
